Why Take Cooking Classes?

 

Meet Louise Hasson

Louise is passionate about food and teaching cooking skills to last a lifetime. After receiving her teaching degree and completing her culinary education, it became clear to Louise that the lay cook and pre-professional needed classes that would advance their knowledge, skills and confidence without having to commit to a full time culinary arts school. Louise saw a niche that needed to be filled and developed.

Bon Vivant offer many levels of participation from our mixed presentation Series Classes to intensive hands-on Single Classes for everyone from the experienced “foodie” to the beginning cook. The goal of our classes is for you to acquire the expertise you need to enjoy cooking and feel successful in the kitchen whether you are an experienced or beginning cook.

Take your skills to the next level! In this course, more advanced culinary skills are addressed.

Exploring International Cuisines
Travel the world on your palate! This course broadens the cook’s knowledge of different world cuisines and where to source ingredients.

The Pastry Arts
Reveal your talents! In this course, cooks discover artful ways of expressing their own creativity while becoming a skilled baker.

When each course is completed students are awarded a certificate of completion that can help them in search of jobs in the culinary field or for personal enhancement. Thousands of our culinary students have benefited from these courses and have gone on to become accomplished, confident cooks who enjoy being successful and knowledgeable in the kitchen.

 

Single Specialty Classes

Each quarter, Bon Vivant School of Cooking also features Saturday Saveur Magazine Events plus a panorama of single small hands-on classes with our talented instructors and chefs as they share their specialties, philosophy and distinct cooking perspective.

Watch for our new healthy, seasonal, regional and world cuisines also offered in select private homes throughout Seattle, Edmonds, Kirkland and Mercer Island.

Our main teaching kitchen is located in the home of Louise Hasson in the View Ridge neighborhood of Seattle. Additional classes are hosted in private homes in neighborhoods such as Kenmore, Edmonds, Bothell, Mercer Island and Kirkland. Get directions (link to Google map)
